The Papble.com Word Chain rules
You are given a start word; you then morph that word into a new word. The rules to change the words are simple:
1. Add a letter - ex. you can turn PAN into PAIN
2. Remove a letter - ex. you can turn FROG into FOG
3. Change a letter - ex. you can turn PIG into PUG
4. Create an anagram (rearrange letters) - ex. you can turn RATES into STARE
Note: Rules are independent as you cannot remove a letter and rearrange that the same time.
Every word must be a valid word in the Webster’s English dictionary http://www.merriam-webster.com/.
Sample:
Start with CAT, get to DOG
CAT
COT - Change A to an O
DOT - Change C to an D
DOG - Change T to an G

What is NoFollow?
The NoFollow link attribute (rel=”nofollow”) was originally created to stop comment spamming on blogs.
The idea is that if spammers are spamming in blog comments to get better SEO and links for their sites, NoFollow would render such spam useless.
NoFollow is no longer limited to blog comments. Wikipedia, digg, reddit, delicious and many more sites use NoFollow in some form.
How does Google handle nofollowed links? As Google’s site reports (http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=96569), they do not follow them. This means that Google does not transfer Page Rank or anchor text across these links. Essentially, using nofollow causes us to drop the target links from our overall graph of the web.
Problems with Nofollow:
1. NoFollow is broken! Being the original intent of NoFollow to stop spamming, that has not worked. Other techniques to stop spamming should be used, ask a question or something.
2. There is no value to the user if the nofollow is applied. The link will not get rank value.
3. Maybe moderate comments more often to ensure the links add value.
4. Lack of understanding about what NoFollow means, leading to all links being NoFollow’ed, did you know Wordpress' defaults to nofollow, so many blogs have it turned on without even knowing.
5. Commenting on a blog post is the same as adding more relevant to that blog post. A thought provoking one sentence post can lead to pages of comments. If someone takes the time to help build your site’s content via posting comments, it is professional courtesy to give them some link love.
6. Wikipedia no following is just bizarre to me, isn’t that the point of an encyclopedia? Link to valuable information and promote that information?
7. Breaks links between websites, seems like a bad idea as it is the World Wide Web?
8. Once people understand the NoFollow tag, it discourages interaction with your site if they know they will not get any value.
Sites like Papble.com do not use NoFollow. We like interesting websites and want to promote your content.

Brad Pitt for Mayor "Campaign" and Fundraisers
Why would Brad Pitt make a good Mayor of New Orleans, I don’t know that he would, however the Brad Pitt inspired Make It Right Foundation has dedicated itself to helping citizens affected by Hurricane Katrina. The foundation plans on building 150 energy-efficient houses for citizens who lost their homes during Katrina.
It hasn’t been since the Saint went to the Super bowl that New Orleans has received this much attention, oops. So how can Brad Pitt for Mayor be a bad thing?

MySpace, Facebook, Papble?
Any “brick” or block can be purchased for you to advertise yourself (either a link to something important to you, your business), a memorial to someone, make a funny statement or anything that you can imagine should be part of the virtual “brick” wall. When the wall is complete it will be a collage of randomly designed blocks and embedded, distinct images. The wall will exist for at least 5 years, with the desire to keep it up forever as a monument to the messages and images created.
No, Papble does not replace MySpace or Facebook, it is an exciting way for large groups of people to share. Be part of the Papble growth and watch the transformation every day. Find exciting “bricks” on the virtual walkway, share with your friends.

Papble Explained
Any “brick” or block can be purchased for you to advertise yourself (either a link to something important to you, your business), a memorial to someone, make a funny statement or anything that you can imagine should be part of the virtual “brick” wall. When the wall is complete it will be a collage of randomly designed blocks and embedded, distinct images. The wall will exist for at least 5 years, with the desire to keep it up forever as a monument to the messages and images created.
The way this works is simple:
1. Pick what you want to support from the left pane, for example the Celiac Disease Foundation, http://www.papble.com/imagedetail_big.php?id=118&sess=.
2. Pick the open “brick” that you wish to purchase.
3. Add the name you want displayed.
4. Add your message (and link to whatever, if you choose).
5. Purchase the “brick”, you can change your message until the entire wall is complete, however this “brick” will live at least 5 years, hopefully forever.
A few more details:
1. In effort to promote this effort, there is a generous referral program. Not having the means to market this and promote our idea, we chose a referral program to enlist help. The table below demonstrates an example of the way the referrals work. If you get 30 people to purchase 1 Papble, and each of those 30 purchases 1 Papble, and so forth, the payout to you would be $3,249 USD.
Purchases Percentage Payout | Generated by Referral | Base Price Each | Total Payout | |
First level | 7.00% | 30 | $4.50 USD | $9.45 |
Second level | 5.00% | 900 | $4.50 USD | $202.50 |
Third level | 2.50% | 27,000 | $4.50 USD | $3,037.50 |
$3,249.45 |
When you login to Papble, click the referral link button; use this link to send to people to ensure you receive credit for Papbles purchased by people you refer.
2. Papble is integrated with Facebook Connect and PayPal. There is never a need to give your personal information to Papble.
3. As you move your mouse around the wall you will see each of the messages that have been left.
4. The wall is meant to be fun while at the same time allowing for promotion of any ideas, your ideas, organizational ideas, funny concepts, there is even a place for putting a tribute to engaged couples (http://www.papble.com/imagedetail_big.php?id=82&sess=).
There is even a scavenger hunt starting at http://www.papble.com/papble.php?gotox=11&gotoy=16.
5. When the wall is complete, posters, t-shirts, and other memorabilia will be available for purchase as well.
6. The Papble wall is limited to 250,000 blocks, so do not be left out.

What is Papble?
So, I felt like this would be appealing on a number of fronts, first off I thought people would like the group aspect. I thought people would like being able to put their messages out there for low advertising. I thought watching the development would be cool, or just the hunt on the board for cool stuff.
As for the buying of the papbles, there were a few thoughts there. First, I wanted to limit just BS and try to cut down on the moderation required. I wanted this to be fun, but to stop the just crap. So if you are advertising $4.5 is pretty low even if you wanted to buy a block. And if you are an individual I wanted to keep the purchases per person pretty low to get more people. I thought that would make it more exciting. Also, part of this goes to the referral program. The referral amounts are significant, I gave up a lot more here than I wanted but I know how much I suck at marketing. The referral link below has the details for this, but I calculated that someone with a decent network could make over $3,000 pretty easily. And I thought someone with a fundraising group could use it, or whatever.

Earning Money with Papble
Why would people want to do this?
1. Its fun.
2. You can support what you are a fan of.
3. You can see what others wrote.
4. You can leave your comments and be a part of history.
Let’s use the current American Idol promotion as an example. A website was created with the idol logo that is being added to the Papble wall.
http://aifan.20m.com/
Please can simply go to this site and pick a point on the wall to fill in. They enter this color and then your message.
There is also a papble hunt at 219 across and 16 down. This should be exciting to see where these questions go. The opportunities and ideas are endless. Remember that with Papble, for everyone you refer directly you receive 7%, the people they refer you receive 5% and the 3rd level people you will receive 2.5%.
We look forward to seeing the ideas you come up with.

Traffic Increased with Papble
Would you like to experience a 175% increase in traffic?
Businesses advertising on Papble have experienced a 175% increase in traffic in some cases.
How is it possible to increase your traffic using Papble?
It’s really simple; Papble uniquely combines a graphical board with the ability to associate text with that board. Further, Papble creates a static page based on the entries in Papble, this static page can be easily seen (indexed) by Google and yahoo, etc and added to their search engines.
As people watch Papble grow and follow the data points on Papble they will be exposed to your business.
As more people start advertising, and then promoting Papble the more your site will be seen and visited.
Part of the excitement of Papble is looking though all the entries people have left. It is like a big scavenger hunt.
Give it a shot and see if you experience an increase in traffic also.

Fund Raising with Papble
One of the great things about Papble is how it can be used for groups of people can use it for fund raising activities. Similar to your high school yearbooks where students or businesses buy space to help earn money, Papble does this on a larger scale.
Let’s use an example, the group trying to raise money signs up for Papble and gets 100 people to sign up.
If those 100 people purchased 10 Papbles each, that would result in $315.00 of money to the fundraiser.
Getting those 100 people to refer just 10 more people who purchased 5 each would result in an additional $1125.00.
And finally if you get those 1000 people get 10 more signed up and those averaged just 2 Papbles to your cause you would generate $3375.00 more.
For a total of $4815.00 for your fundraiser.
Obviously the amount you can generate depends on how many people you have exposure that will support your group. However for most groups the initial 100 people should be a conservative number.
