What is Papble?

First off, the following is a high level overview of what is Papble. Papble is a simply a graphical board of points. The idea is that people can buy their own dots to this board with an attached message. Papble includes a place for “group images” where people can add their own shapes for others to build on the wall. For instance, someone gave me the idea to add Michael Jackson’s glove, http://www.papble.com/imagedetail.php?id=64. People can go here and pick an open point and add their message and be part of the wall. People do have to purchase the papble; I will get to the thought process there in a minute.

So, I felt like this would be appealing on a number of fronts, first off I thought people would like the group aspect. I thought people would like being able to put their messages out there for low advertising. I thought watching the development would be cool, or just the hunt on the board for cool stuff.

As for the buying of the papbles, there were a few thoughts there. First, I wanted to limit just BS and try to cut down on the moderation required. I wanted this to be fun, but to stop the just crap. So if you are advertising $4.5 is pretty low even if you wanted to buy a block. And if you are an individual I wanted to keep the purchases per person pretty low to get more people. I thought that would make it more exciting. Also, part of this goes to the referral program. The referral amounts are significant, I gave up a lot more here than I wanted but I know how much I suck at marketing. The referral link below has the details for this, but I calculated that someone with a decent network could make over $3,000 pretty easily. And I thought someone with a fundraising group could use it, or whatever.
